Everyone has their opinion regarding the unjustly incarceration of those held at Guantanamo. President Obama has spoken but policy has yet to be set as to when the prison will actually close. Which values would that be?
The values that has allowed and accepted torture from the very inception as a country? From when we took over North America? Or going back to the beginning in Europe? Or just the ones we say we have for the purpose of promoting the lie of “America, the beacon for democracy and human rights” to our people?
The US MUST change it’s entire perception of the world in order to START changing our perception of ourselves.
The rest of the planet knows exactly who we are and who we have become. We are not the ideal or the idol.
We are fault filled and ignorant and we lie to ourselves about our inhumanity as well as our humanity.
Awareness is the first step to change and change MUST happen within our nation from the attitude of exceptionalism to the promotion of our own willful ignorance.
We must finally learn and accept that the rest of the planet is not just a failed attempt at being us and accept each and every nation as a unique and valid body with its own faults as well as positive qualities – and those positive qualities are the people and what they offer each and every one of us in awareness and knowledge.
I was tortured for almost 3 years by the FBI and their friends only
because 85 years old man, Roland Sibens(chicago) convinced them that I
am a terrorist. I was tortured for working on my prosthetic legs in
the basement. I done absolutely nothing illegal or wrong. They thought
that in theory it is possible to hide bomb in them. They saw an
opportunity to get famous, so they were trying to torture me till I
sign their insane story. They tortured me using more than 100
different torturing methods and trust to me waterboarding is not how
they torture nowadays. I dont know where to find justice.
I think that after 9/11 things got out of control. Freedom fighters
became tyrants. In 1945, most Germans had an opportunity to learn about Nazis death
camps. I hope that one day American citizens will get chance to learn about people
like me, who were tortured with no reason for years.
