We share our wedding anniversaries with our social media family. They keep us uplifted. Getting to this point in life and marriage is not easy. It’s been a bumpy road that took some time to get the lumps out. We are now on the better side of things and enjoying life tot he fullest. Here’s a little inspiration as to why you should keep going:
26 years ago today we walked into a pastor’s quarters in Washington DC with meager means and good intentions. Our hopes and dreams were larger than our bank accounts. Our knowledge of what #marriage was at the time was sketchy and limited to say the least as we only had our real life examples of our parents, relatives and friend’s parents and the fairy tale examples of TV & movies to observe. Our conversations about commitment were intense and our plan to see it through was firm. Our plan to explore our entrepreneurship vision was bright and we set our sights on the American Dream of the home with the picket fence with 2.5 kids. My prince didn’t come on a white horse but he came via a white VW Rabbit. Wasn’t even a convertible but at the tenderoni age of 21, it was paid in full. The Cinderella story had started a lil off as I didn’t have glass slippers but a pair of red flats from Journeys…they substituted just fine. As we turn the page on #25yearsofmarriage which was a most awesome year, and start the next chapter of #26yearsofmarriage we set our sights on a new goal. The goal is #30yearsofmarriage as we take this life in stages. We set goals, we work towards them. At this point, failure is not an option. Our love runs deep. Our faith keeps us strong. As we celebrate our anniversary today…26 Years is a lifetime for some. Take a look at our story…and take from it…HOPE. #Hope of better days to come…:)
