If It Wasn’t on the Calendar, What Would You Celebrate?

Sometimes we seem to get so caught up every month in what seems to be the next holiday or celebration. We find ourselves shopping the sales just to make sure that Lil Timmy or Desiree does not go without a gift so that they may feel “special.”Society has totally commercialized our entire way of living. Just to make sure that Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are no more grandiose than for the people who actually made the mother’s and father’s, Hallmark created Grandparent’s Day. As if Valentine’s Day was not enough, there had to be another reason to buy a card so along comes Sweetest Day. I would be here another hour listing all of the calendar celebrations, sentimental celebrations and just plain ol made up celebrations. Most people mark their calendars as not to forget but feel bad when they cannot produce a gift. What are we teaching our children and what are we not learning from governmental consumerism?Choose to be special everyday and every day Celebrate LIFE!
